JMD Foundation Vision Statement
The Jacquelin Montalvo Despeignes (JMD) Foundation envisions a world in which marginalized communities across the United States, Haiti, the Western Hemisphere, and the Global South possess the educational, economic, cultural, and diplomatic power to shape their own destinies. We strive to build interconnected societies rooted in human dignity, equity, self-determination, cultural pride, democratic participation, sustainable development, and international cooperation. Through education, leadership development, social entrepreneurship, media, cultural diplomacy, and community-centered institution building, JMD seeks to help create a more just, peaceful, and collaborative global society where vulnerable populations are no longer merely served but empowered to lead, innovate, and transform their communities.
JMD Foundation Mission Statement
The mission of the Jacquelin Montalvo Despeignes (JMD) Foundation is to advance the social, educational, economic, cultural, and civic development of underserved communities through advocacy, institution building, diplomacy, entrepreneurship, media, and strategic partnerships.
As the parent organization of the NYC Coalition for Educating Families Together (NYC CEFT) and si Ayiti te Pale, JMD works to strengthen families, empower youth, amplify marginalized voices, preserve cultural identity, and cultivate future leaders capable of transforming their communities locally, nationally, and internationally.
JMD fulfills its mission by developing educational initiatives, leadership programs, cultural and media platforms, economic empowerment projects, and international collaborations that bridge communities across borders while fostering mutual respect, shared prosperity, and sustainable human development. The Foundation is committed to building systems that not only address immediate inequalities, but also expand the long-term political, economic, and intellectual capacity of historically overlooked populations.
Inspired by the belief that diplomacy, education, culture, and economic opportunity can serve as instruments of peace and transformation, JMD seeks to connect people, communities, and nations in pursuit of collective advancement and global cooperation.
